* Both the one man and three man skit got off to a bad start with yours truly goofing up the music, so just placing under those circumstances was a humbling experience with the competition we had.

On September 25th thru 27th 2008, there was a SASA (South Atlantic Shrine Association) and SASCA (South Atlantic Shrine Clown Association)ceremonial meeting in Pigeon Forge Tenn. consisting of 19 Shriners Districts from Kentucky, W. Virginia, Virginia, N.Carolina, S. Carolina, and East Tenn, Thousands of Shriners were present. To give an idea of parade size, the parade was conducted by Shrine units only and was 3 hours 15 minutes long. This was an opportuniy to socialize, share interests and ideas, and compete for coveted awards.

Competition was fierce in SASCA with a total of 46 individual clowns competing in SASCA alone. There were hundreds of clowns present. Only the best of the best dare to compete. Outgoing SASCA President Allen R. (Buddy ) Brown (one of our own) went out with a bang with support from his fellow clowns. It was one of those weekends you hated to see end. Below is a snapshot of our efforts.

The people of eastern North Carolina have access to one of, if not the best parade clown units on the East Coast. Meeting once a year like this to compete keeps our skills sharp so we can deliver great wholesome entertainment for the whole family.

Sudan, second year in a row for the traveling trophy. Thanks go out to our guys and Ladies for your participation, to SASCA for putting up with us, and to Tony Jones for implementing the idea of the traveling trophy. Are we happy or what?... The joke was good too!

These guys and more worked their butt off for this in the parade. Great job guys !!!.
